I guess I'm back?

I'm not really going to bother checking my friends' page after almost a year.

So, what's new and exciting in your lives?

Feb. 16th, 2010

So I haven't posted anything in a long time and a bit of that has to do with being busy with school but most has to do with not having interests or friends or anything to say. So this is probably my last entry? It started as a self-absorbed 12 yr old and now I am an equally self-absorbed 18 yr old, only now I try to keep it to myself.

Sup hos! I have been neglecting livejournal in favour of pretending to do school work and watch absurd amounts of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'!

I haven't been up to anything interesting. I probably failed German, so that's cool, I guess. I met my goal of reading 50 books this year and I'm halfway through 'The Ghost Road' by Pat Barker.

I'm in Calgary for the next couple of weeks. I really missed sitting on couches.

NOTE: I'm counting plays!!!! And graphic novels. I'm using the criteria that if it's bound like a book and I cannot read the entire thing in my spare, then it's a book.
I have poor time management skills!

Sup, internet? I've been pretty busy the last while with school and that.

Anyways, I have a narrative analysis paper due in film next week and I need you to help me decide!

Wild Strawberries
+less people writing about it gives me an edge.
+quieter film. ie, won’t get caught up in descriptive claims or be tempted to go off on tangents about representations of anxieties of masculinity, machismo and homoeroticism in American film. Also won’t end up using phrases like “OMFG, remember the scene where his ear gets sliced off, CRAZY SHIT, guys!” in academic writing.
-Not sure how many times I will be able to watch it within a week due to availability
-Not sure how many times I will be able to watch it within a week due to existentialist themes

Reservoir Dogs
+I know I have lots to say about it
-I know a lot of what I have to say about it does not fit into analysis of narrative conve ention and structure
+I have more familiarity with it
-you need to reserve the view library’s copy because our whole film class is writing about it
-our whole film class is writing about it, and I’ve always noticed in classes like this that the text the least people chose, the higher the marks on projects about that text are? IDK

I know, I have an exciting life!

PS; So far my best friend at school is the homeless guy who hangs out on campus sometimes and also likes to talk to pidgeons.

PPS: My Bio partner is named Twinky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's her legal name! I think she's from Malaysia or something. omg, happiest day of my life

looool, today on the way home from film I was chatting with this guy in my class. We were kind of flirting and then he asked me who my favourite director was.
"I'm not sure? Um, I like Don McKellar"
"Oh". And then we walked away. Which, to be fair, I've mentally done to people?
Anyways, I was creeping facebook and it turns out he likes Titanic and Jurassic Park 2. So I totally won that one.

Also, supposedly the youngest person in our year is 14 and oldest 74. I think I saw the 74 year old the other day, but she might have been younger. I keep seeing people in my classes who look like they're 12, but I don't want to ask them "hey, are you that 14 year old mutant?" but that would be rude.

Three days in and I've already flunked out. It would have happened sooner or later, the only reason I got in was because I took really easy grade 12 courses, and my teachers liked me and the government felt sorry for me because my therapist wrote me an IPP that made me sound more disadvantaged than I actually was. Whatever.

The girl who used to babysit me sent me an invite to the facebook group nominating her for Hooter's girl of the month.

I like a bit player in a really trashy version of an Egoyan film.

I hate getting blood work not so much because of the pain as because of the waiting rooms. The lab I go to is by a senior's home and the waiting room is full of clique-y seniors talking shit about each other and coughing on people that are probably sick to begin with, as they are at the lab.

IDK, I just get really mad when I'm sitting with a bunch of people who are waiting to get tested for AIDS or hypothyroidism or leukemia and some guy's spit-yelling into my ear about how he doesn't want to retire to Arizona, because it's too hot but he doesn't want to retire to anywhere outside Arizona because it's too cold.

In other news, my mom is having her friend and his family over for supper, but she can't remember his wife's name and thinks it's Lorax and now she's worried she'll call her Lorax. I love my mom.

Aug. 17th, 2009

I'm leaving in 2.5 weeks. I don't know anyone in Vancouver except the white supremacist from my social class last year. I have the social maturity of an 8 year old so I don't even try and then I cope with loneliness by preemptively hating everyone and am surprised when I don't have friends.

I don't like music o films or anything anymore.

I never comment on anyone's entries because I've gotten too shy for LJ.

I just want to stay in Calgary and stay in bed.
